Jerry is convinced that a local power plant is melting his brain, so he sets out to sabotage it, and in the process becomes magnetised. The magnetic field he emanates then starts erasing all the tapes in the video store where his friend Mike works. In an attempt to hold onto the store's one regular customer, and Mike's job, Jerry and Mike set out to remake the lost films - with hilarious consequences.
