Biography - Born 03/09/1986
Practically born into the entertainment industry, actress Brittany Snow got her start modeling for print ads when she was three years-old. After posing for a Burdines advertisement, she began going to auditions with her mother, Cinda, and earned several roles in spots for Nabisco, Kmart and McDonalds, for which she appeared as a box of French fries. Airing regionally and nationally, the commercials led to roles on various television shows, including SeaQuest DSV (NBC, 1993-95) and Safe Harbor (WB, 1999-2000), both of which were shot in her native Florida. As her acting career picked up, her parents took strides to make sure her school life continued unperturbed. Though her mom continued to work, her dad, John, quit his job from the insurance industry to operate as her fulltime manager. In 2001, Snow landed a regular role on the long-running soap opera, Guiding Light (CBS, 1952- ). As Susan Lemay, the long-lost daughter of Harley Davidson Cooper Spaulding (Beth Ehlers), the typically sweet and cheerful Snow got the chance to play a manipulative little brat who shoplifts, runs away from home and tries to overdose on cough syrup for attention. Snow relished the chance to play a character different from herself, allowing her to stretch her acting wings. Meanwhile, Snow continued to live in Tampa, Florida while commuting the New York to film her scenes. Her parents felt it was necessary that she continued to live near friends and family to maintain the rhythm of her regular life. Snow was an honor student at Ben Hill Middle School, where she earned straight-As, though a couple Bs eventually showed up on her report card. Her parents remained unalarmed. The exposure she received from playing the vindictive tyke on Guiding Light earned her a role playing a character closer to heart on American Dreams (NBC, 2002- ), a period drama set in the 1960s as seen through the eyes of Snows character, Meg, a 15-year-old who dreams of being on American Bandstand. In trying to shed her good girl image, Meg dances her way through the turbulence of the 60s while dealing with the typical hang-ups of a teen from any decade. Snow was then cast in her first feature, The Pacifier (2005), starring a neutered Vin Diesel as a Navy SEAL who tries to redeem himself by taking care of the children of a scientist whom he failed to protect. Snow played a rebellious teen who gives Diesel more trouble than the bad guys who are out to kill him.
