It takes ages for this film to really get going - some editing could be required - though the most int. thing really is the depression setting and a greta sense of how 1 in 4 men were unemployed is given.

i often don't want to like either russel or renee but whenever I see them they seduce me with their good acting - he is really outstanding in this.

See it if you are interested in sport films or historical films
