Set in 1988, this social satire follows Donnie Darko, a cynical teenager who is visited on occasion by Frank, a giant rabbit that only he can see and who urges him to perform destructive pranks. Late one night, Frank leads Donnie out of his home to inform him that the world will come to an end in less than a month. As Donnie begins to explore what it means to still be alive, he uncovers secrets of the universe that give him a tempting power to alter time and destiny.
