Best Thing: The electric tension and the uber-powerful character River
Worst Thing: Dialogue wavered between mediocre and poor
Well i'm certainly no Joss fan. In fact the sight of Buffy or Angel wants me to hurl bricks at my TV.
So therefore I really didnt have high expectations for this film (having been dragged kicking and screaming to the big screen) but I have to say that I was very impressed - special affects, acting and story line were very impressive. The tension and the "made me jump" moments were particularly enjoyable.
The only critism I would have is some of the dialogue. It didnt make much sense that they spoke Japanese in places (tho of course my friends that are fans of Firefly then explained to me in way too much detail why this happens) and the general conversation was sometimes difficult to hear.
Overall an extremely enjoyable film - go watch it. Even if you can't stand Joss as much as I can't.
