Best Thing: Simplicity
Worst Thing: You think you'll be bored at the start
...so a film about how 3 different generations of women from the same family deal with the death of Otar, a family-member, set in grey Tiblisi Georgia... You'd be forgiven for it not jumping from the DVD shelf. If this film hadn't won the awards it had I may not have given it a try either, but I am so glad I did.
Stick with this film despite the bleak, slow, grey start. It really is worthwhile. It will appeal to anyone with a heart - it's rare that such a simple tale of human emotions and values is told. This story is of love, protection, longing and hope for the future. There are twists in the tale that you wouldn't anticipate and the Georgian context gives it added interest to anyone who loves an intimate eye into a new city.
