Best Thing: THE STORY - BECAUSE IT'S TRUE
2006 is proving to be a year of truly great movie's. Walk The Line is simply the best - when you watch this movie it's like turning back the page's of the not so distant past. Winner of 3 Golden Globe Awards - Best Actor - Joaquin Phoenix (Musical or Comedy) Best Actress- Reese Witherspoon (Musical or Comedy) and Best Film - what a shame an Award wasn't presented for "Most Outstanding". Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon give the best performances of the career's - they both derserve to be Oscar nominated and win because they have simply raised the bar so high in terms of acting without holding back any of the pain of their characters - Johnny Cash may have been a drug user, he may have been voilent but there is no denying that the man was a genuis. The supporting cast is also outstanding - Tyler Wilton (Elvis Presley), Waylon Payne (Jerry Lee Lewis), Shooter Jennings (Waylon Jennings), and Robert Patrick (Ray Cash) but the most amazing standout performance from the supporting cast is that of Ginnifer Goodwin as Vivanne Cash - Johnny's first wife - a performance that dervere's an Oscar nomination. Under the brilliant Direction of Jame's Mangold, Walk The Line, is like Ang Lee's brilliant Brokeback Mountain - a movie to be experienced, rather than to be simply watched and enjoyed.
