- 1968: Feature film acting debut in Martin Ritt's gangster film "The Brotherhood"
- Appeared in the Jerome Robbins-directed version of the Arthur Kopit play, "Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feeling So Sad"
- Made Broadway debut at age 21 in "The Nervous Set"
- Joined Jerome Robbins' experimental American Laboratory Theater as both actor and assistant
- Became one of the original members of the Lincoln Center Repertory Company and appeared there in four plays: "Incident at Vichy", "Marco Millions", "After the Fall", and "The Changeling", the latter two directed by Elia Kazan
