Synopsis
Inspired by a true-life story, "Coach Carter" is an inspirational account of a controversial high school basketball coach, who received both high praise and staunch criticism when he benched his entire undefeated basketball team for poor academic performance. Due to his stand, many of the students turned around in their academics and the real life Coach Carter of Richmond, California was elected to carry the Olympic Flame as it made its way to Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympic Games in 2002.
