United 93 (2006)

A real-time account of the events on United Flight 93, one of the planes hijacked on 9/11 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania when passengers foiled the terrorist plot. "United 93" recreates the doomed trip, from takeoff to hijacking to the realisation by those on board that their plane was part of a coordinated attack unfolding on the ground below them. The film attempts to understand the abject fear and courageous decisions of those who - over the course of just 90 minutes - transformed from a random assembly of strangers into bonded allies who confronted an unthinkable situation.
