Shot in 35mm scope in New Mexico, "Requiem for Billy the Kid" is an intriguingly speculative film that melds the narrative form with traditional documentary filmmaking. Part poetic evocation, part road movie, Feinsilber's mesmerising ode to the mythology of the American west is enriched by a discursive off-camera dialogue between the filmmaker and an 'in character' Kris Kristofferson, reprising his role as Billy the Kid in Peckinpah's classic 1973 western.
