Sakato is a married woman with a six-year-old son. One day her son is playing catch with a paper boy named Minoru, who she eventually learns, had stabbed and killed his father years before, in an attempt to protect his mother from him. The mother then abandoned Minoru who begins to see some of her in Sakato and starts following her. In doing this, he finds out that she is being threatened by the yakuza mafia. When Sakato's husband begins seeing changes in her, he jumps to conclusions, Minoru tries to save her and Sakato wants to escape, but is held back by fear.
