Xingfu Jinxingqu (1999)

Jin is a young musician, who falls in love with a Japanese girl, but then leaves her to return to his native Taiwan. There he meets Yu, who loves theatre, but works selling fish and is about to be forced into an arranged marriage by her family. They fall in love, but are separated in the chaos of the Allied bombings of Taipei in 1945.
