Paul, an up and coming architect, has just landed a big job with his colleague Rieke. He wants to party. But Paul's girlfriend Gabi disagrees with this idea and they start quarrelling. Paul decides to celebrate with Rieke and his best friend Max, a burly, quiet physician. Paul drinks too much and loses track of what happens that night. Meanwhile Gabi meets her lover Heribert, who is also her boss. While making love, Heribert loses his balance and Gabi ends up with a broken neck. Heribert panics and leaves the scene. The next morning Paul can't remember what happened the evening before. When he discovers Gabi's dead body he believes that he must have killed her while he was stoned. Max agrees. For Paul there is only one way out: they have to get rid of the corpse.
