Set in 1927, the tale of a Berlin high school student who gets caught in a complicated romantic web when his best friend named Guenther, a poet named Paul and his shamelessly seductive sister, Hilde, all embark on a four-day orgy of alcohol, drugs, and sexual liaisons with a circle of friends and acquaintances--determined to be happy or die.
