A Cool Dry Place (1999)

A rising lawyer wrestles with the responsibilities of fatherhood when his wife suddenly picks up and leaves him and their young son. Fired from his big-city legal career while trying to juggle duties, he takes a lesser position in rural Kansas where he struggles to accept a life he never planned for. There he finds romance with a spirited local woman, but complications arise when the boy's mother returns to claim her son.
