James Corden wanted for Broadway show

James Corden is being eyed for a role in new Broadway musical 'Around the World in 80 Days'.

The 36-year-old entertainer - who previously won a Tony Award in 2012 for his work in stage production 'One Man, Two Guvnors - reportedly discussed the project with Harvey Weinstein at the Hollywood mogul's Oscars party, with him getting the chance to hear some of the songs the project will feature.

However, before he can think about that opportunity, James - who previously worked with Harvey on Paul Potts biopic 'One Chance' - needs to begin work fronting 'The Late Late Show' and admitted he is "absolutely terrified" at the prospect.

Speaking to the New York Post Newspaper's Page Six column, he said: "About starting this TV show, how do I feel? Frightened. Absolutely terrified. All I know is, all I'll keep thinking is what my job is, and that's to make lots of people laugh before they go to sleep."

The British star - who has children Max, three, and Carey, three months, with wife Julia - said recently that he never Googles himself and avoids checking Twitter because he doesn't want to expose himself to the "poison" of some people's opinions.

He said: "You have to take all the negative stuff with a bag of salt... What anyone else thinks of me isn't any of my business... I hardly check Twitter and I pretty much never look at that stuff. The worst thing I could do at this moment in my career is start Googling myself or searching for stuff because if you look long enough, you will always eventually find something horrible.

"You just can't live your life like that... The good stuff is like water off a duck's back and the bad stuff you just hang on to and that's poison basically. It's madness. It's completely fine for people not to like you - for me, the worst thing you can be is vanilla."
