23 Jump Street will be 'outrageous'

Phil Lord has promised '23 Jump Street' will be "outrageous".

The American director, who helmed the two earlier movies - '21 Jump Street' and '22 Jump Street' - alongside Chris Miller, has revealed plans for the third instalment of the popular franchise are progressing at pace and he's offered a tantalising preview of what fans can expect.

Lord shared: "Rodney Rothman is off writing a script. He had a really outrageous idea for what to do, and how we could take our scorched-earth sequel policy from the end of '22 Jump Street' and do something that hadn't been explored in those 22 sequels and simultaneously tell the next chapter in the story."

However, Lord refused to confirm or deny whether he and Miller will helm the new movie, or whether they will be confined to the role of producers.

Asked about their role with the movie, he told the New York Times magazine: "We don't know what the future is going to bring in terms of that, but we are definitely involved, and certainly part of the producing team. We're really excited about the movie and will be a big part in bringing it in front of audiences."
