Kate Bosworth's challenging 20s

Kate Bosworth turned to Helena Christensen for advice after going through a "hard time" in her twenties.

The 32-year-old actress - who shot to fame in the US TV series 'Young Americans' in 2000 aged just 17 - struggled to cope with the pressures of stardom as she grew up and was lucky to find solace in the model, who gave her valuable guidance.

Speaking about Helena, 46, the blonde beauty said: "I was quite armoured for a lot of years. I had been going through such a hard time [in my 20s]. I felt like it was me and my experience was unique, when actually everyone goes through these challenges.

"'I just said to her, 'God, I am struggling ... I'm feeling quite lost.' And she replied, 'You should have called me! I have been through that so many times.' And that was when the penny finally dropped.

"I don't think I'd be where I am without her."

Kate is currently filming her third movie, '90 Minutes In Heaven', with her director husband Michael Polish - who she tied the knot to in 2013 - and he is still helping her to feel settled in Hollywood.

She told The Edit magazine: "Michael said to me, 'You have to be patient, because you're going to hit that next chapter where you're going to settle into yourself, and that's when things are going to get really interesting.' "
