Liam Gallagher's 'last minute' child support agreement

Liam Gallagher has reached a "last minute" child support deal.

The former Oasis star has reportedly agreed to pay over £3,000 a month to Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his two-year-old daughter Gemma, a source close to the journalist revealed.

The exact figure, which remained confidential throughout proceedings, is expected to be around £40,000 a year.

Speaking after the agreement was made, Liza said: "I am just really relieved this ordeal is over for the sake of my daughter."

Liam - who split from Liza after finding out she was pregnant - did not attend the hearing and the journalist and her legal team are waiting for the original copy of the agreements, signed by the 42-year-old singer, to be sent over from the United Kingdom, the New York Post's Page Six column reports.

Speaking after a decision was made, the judge added: "I am pleased to hear the parties have reached a settlement with all the issues before the court.

"I understand the settlement is confidential. I am satisfied it is a just and appropriate agreement.

"My concern is always what's best for the child and I'm happy you have worked out an appropriate settlement."

Legal action had been continuing for 18 months after the pair failed to agree on child support informally.

Previously, Liam has been fined twice by Judge Drager for his "frivolous conduct" and failing to turn up for hearings.
