Sam Smith moved next door to Boy George

Sam Smith has moved next door to Boy George.

The 23-year-old singer - who is currently recovering from surgery on his vocal cords - purchased a property just metres from the 'Karma Chameleon' hitmaker's North London abode, and the 53-year-old star said he is thrilled to be living near the talented star.

George told The Sun newspaper: "He's bought the house next door to me in Hampstead. I saw him there the other day.

"He's a lovely guy. I met him just before he really blew up, which was a nice thing."

Meanwhile, the four-time Grammy Award winner wrote on his Instagram account earlier this week saying he was celebrating the one-year anniversary of his hugely successful debut album 'In the Lonely Hour' by moving into his new home, and has since shared several snaps from the dwelling.

He wrote: "Not only is today the 1 year anniversary of ITLH But it's also the day I move into my new house. Can't help but think back to how much my life has changed over the past year. I love you all. Couldn't feel less lonely (sic)."

And his recent purchase isn't the only thing Sam has to celebrate, as he has achieved a chart feat only previously accomplished by the Beatles, by spending almost a year in the top five of the UK album charts, shifting in excess of a million copies in the UK alone.
