Mike Posner pens tracks for Justin Bieber

Mike Posner has written songs for Justin Bieber's new album.

The 27-year-old musician - who recently released his 'The Truth EP' - revealed he has sent tracks to Justin's manager Scooter Braun for the star's upcoming fourth studio record following the success of 'Boyfriend', which Mike penned for the 21-year-old musician in 2011.

Asked if he has written more music for the hunk, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I sent Scooter (Braun) some songs. I'm not sure if they're going to use any of them."

The news comes after Justin - who features on Jack Ü's track 'Where Are Ü Now' - teased fans can expect "uplifting music" from him on his next release.

He said: "Overall, I'm just happy with the place I'm at creatively. I feel like this is probably the best I've been. There's not really a direction. It's like, uplifting music that people can dance to... It's a little different, it's really uplifting and people are going to smile when they listen to it."

And although no release date has been announced for the 'Baby' hitmaker's next record, he revealed he has been working with Kanye West, and has been inspired by his split from Selena Gomez on the LP.

Speaking earlier this year, he said: "A lot of my inspiration comes from her. It was a long relationship and a relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness, and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. So there's a lot of that on this album."
