Lucy Liu becomes a mother

Lucy Liu has welcomed her first child via a surrogate.

The 'Charlie's Angels' actress shared an intimate photo of her posing with her baby son Rockwell Lloyd Liu on Instagram, and her representative has confirmed her new arrival.

A spokesperson said: "I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier. Mom and baby are healthy and happy."

The 46-year-old starlet took to social media to share the news with fans, also, captioning her sweet snap: "Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In [love]! (sic)"

Lucy currently stars alongside Jonny Lee Miller in US TV show 'Elementary'.

The actress previously revealed she's not too adept with social media.

She said: "I'm terrible. I'm a visual person so I'm much more comfortable sending pictures.

"It's so hard to keep up with emails and lines and a 14-16 hour day of work. I'm not a daily Instagram or Twitter or Facebook person.

"I send things out when I feel like it. I don't know how people find the time."
