Ryan Seacrest 'shed a tear' over sister's wedding role

Ryan Seacrest "shed a tear" when his sister asked him to be her man of honour.

The television and radio presenter's younger sister Meredith is set to tie the knot and Ryan couldn't help but share the special moment with his 13.8 million Twitter followers.

He took a photo of the poem Meredith sent him, which reads: "You've been by my side all of my life, and I wouldn't want you anywhere else, when I become a wife. I'm so lucky to have you as my brother, and couldn't imagine celebrating with any other.

"So basically what I'm trying to say ... Will you be my Man of Honor on my special day?! (sic)"

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old star previously admitted he'd love to have a relationship like his parents - Gary Lee Seacrest and Constance Marie Zullinger - and was ready to settle down as he reached the milestone age.

He shared recently: "It is a turning point number where you go, 'Wait, you've got to grow up a little bit.' I'm actually embracing it! Until recently, I felt I shouldn't ever have a day off and felt guilty going on vacation. That was pressure I put on myself. I've gotten a little more relaxed as I approach 40.

"I look at what my mom and dad have had for 40-plus years - a fantastic relationship and great marriage. Someday I'd like that. They're my role models."
