Ed Sheeran most streamed artist of all-time

Ed Sheeran has become the most streamed artist of all-time on Spotify.

The 'Sing' hitmaker has now achieved over three billion streams on the music website and overtaken Eminem to take the title.

Ed is also the most streamed artist in the UK in 2015 with over 59 million listeners selecting his music on the platform.

Spotify has released its Year in Music lists to reveal the most successful songs and artists in 2015.

Drake is the world's most streamed artist of 2015, with over 1.8 billion streams this year and 46 million listeners.

Rihanna is the globe's most streamed female artist this year with over one billion streams and 57 million listeners this year, despite her new LP 'Anti' not even being released yet.

Justin Bieber set a record for the most streams in a single day of all time with 36 million streams on November 13.

The pop superstar also broke the record for the most album streams in a single week, with over 205 million streams of his latest album 'Purpose', which was released on November 13.

Major Lazer had the most streamed song of the last 12 months

as 'Lean On' (ft. MØ and DJ Snake) was listened to by Spotify users over 540 million times. The tune also ranks as the most streamed song of all time on Spotify.

Major Lazer thanked fans for earning him the super statistic, saying: "One Love, One Lazer!! Thanks to you: our friends, fam and global squad, 'Lean On' is the world's most streamed track! (sic)"

Elsewhere, The Weeknd had the most streamed album of 2015 with 'Beauty Behind The Madness' which has achieved over 60 million listeners.

Speaking about his success, The Weeknd said: "It's been an insane year working with some really talented people. Thank you to the fans on Spotify for making 'Beauty Behind the Madness' the most streamed album of 2015."

Robin Schulz had the top viral track on the platform after 'Sugar' appeared on Spotify's Global Viral 50 chart 55 times this year.
