Jamie Oliver too shy to have vasectomy

Jamie Oliver won't have a vasectomy in case pictures of the intimate procedure end up on SnapChat.

The 40-year-old chef's wife Jools is pregnant with their fifth child - a sibling for Poppy, 14, Daisy, 13, Petal, seven, and five-year-old Buddy - and while he thinks he needs to be "restrained" from having more children in future, he is reluctant to be sterilised as it would involve exposing his private parts to a number of people and he's worried someone will take and share photographs.

Asked if he'd consider a vasectomy, he laughed and said: "The problem with being a celebrity is that... when you have your balls out to have the operation, there's going to be seven people there and I'll get a bit shy, funnily enough. And it scares me a little bit! And I don't want it on Snapchat so I don't think I'll be doing it. But definitely I need to be, er, restrained."

Jamie is very excited for the arrival of his fifth child in August, but he does admit he is "secretly surprised" he and Jools - who he married in 2000 after seven years together - have had such a large family.

He told the Evening Standard newspaper: "I'm really excited. She's seven months in. She's good... I'm secretly surprised at the size of our family but it keeps me honest and grounded and it's very funny."

In 2014, Jamie had admitted he wasn't keen on the idea of having a fifth child, despite his wife's wishes to expand their family further.

He said: "She is 40 in about 10 days and I took her out and she goes, 'OK are we going to have another kid then?' I said, 'You what?'.

"The woman wants another baby. So watch this space. But with all the power in my body we are not having another baby."
