Selena Gomez didn't want Taylor Swift to join her on her Revival tour.

Selena Gomez didn't want Taylor Swift to join her on her Revival tour.

The 23-year-old songstress rejected the idea of being accompanied by her best friends Cara Delevingne, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid and the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker on stage, because she doesn't want her association with celebrity pals to detract from her as a musician.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly online about having a re-run of Taylor's The 1989 Tour - which saw Selena and Lisa Kudrow emerge on stage during her Los Angeles performance for a duet - the brunette beauty said: "I made a joke about this [getting her friends to join her on tour], Taylor was in the room, and she looked at me like, 'You should totally do that!' I was like, 'I can't have all those people come on my stage!' She's like, 'Why not?' 'Because I'm not Taylor Swift!'

"I've worked for my whole career, and I've always wanted it to be about that.

"I've been in so many situations where it's like, 'Oh, you're friends with this person? You're with that person?' All this credibility s**t that drives me crazy.

However, the 'Hands To Myself' hitmaker has revealed she does enjoy collaborating with other artists, although her solo career is her main priority for now.

She explained: "I love being able to work with other artists I admire.

"But I have a lot to do on my own before I am willing to make it all about embracing other people."

Meanwhile, the former 'Wizards of Waverley Place' actress is balancing rehearsals for her second solo concert, which begins in Las Vegas on Friday (06.05.16), with creating a new album.

She said: "I'm in rehearsals during the day and in the studio at night. You hit those points in your life where you're super inspired."
