Sophie Turner wants X-Men spin off movie

Sophie Turner wants her 'X-Men: Apocalypse' character Jean Grey to have her own movie.

The 20-year-old actress would love to see the extended storyline 'The Dark Phoenix Saga', which features her character in the lead role, to be made into a film.

She told USA Today: "It's kind of set up for it in (X-Men Apocalypse) - you see hints of Phoenix. And it's really exciting that we're kind of exploring this good Phoenix at the moment and we're not doing the Dark Phoenix.

"There are so many ways we can go with the character, and with these super-strong powers that she has, they should make a Dark Phoenix saga. But let's hope I'll be a good superhero for a while."

Meanwhile, the 'Game of Thrones' star previously admitted she feared she would ruin 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

She said: "This is going to be the worst X-Men so far, because I'm in it. When you're outside something, you think, 'That is amazing, I would love to be in that.' But when you are in it, you think, 'Is this going to be any good?'"

Sophie worked hard to research ahead of her role in the Marvel franchise.

Of the process, she shared: "I just watched the movies. I did my research online but for the Phoenix stuff I thought the movies were the best thing to draw from.

"In terms of building up the character, we didn't want her to feel on the edge of letting go, we wanted her to seem so repressed, you saw no hints of the real power that she has except for when maybe she's like, having a nightmare, but we didn't want any flashy things until the final moment."
