First, she had to be thin (of course) but also strong as she slipped on the famous, revealing Catwoman suit for Christopher Nolan's highly-anticipated 'The Dark Knight Rises,' which hits theatres July 19. She reportedly worked out intensely and took dance classes five days a week in her quest to stay lean.
"The Catwoman suit. It was a psychological terrorist ... the suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit ... it dominated my year," she tells the magazine. "I went into the gym for ten months and didn't come out." At the time when chatted with the magazine, Hathaway confesses she was "doing some crazy diet stuff" for the all-star musical. "I'm on day six of detox... this diet makes me break out, so I love that. Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, 'And I got a pimple. Yeah!'" While she may be exaggerating a little about her extreme diet, she was reportedly eating just 2,000 kilojules a day!
Hathaway, who also cut her long locks into a super short crop for 'Les Mis,' is so intense when it comes to her craft that it's no surprise she's up for doing the tough scenes. She's even up for acting in the buff when she feels it's warranted, as moviegoers saw in 'Love and Other Drugs' and 'Brokeback Mountain.' "I'm as vain as the next girl, but I think it's my job to show people as they live, and nudity is part of life," she explains.
