The latest instalment from the successful X-Men franchise, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," has achieved 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's biggest ever day one Blu-ray result with sales of 4,769 units on it's opening day.
"The X-Men series continues to be one of the most successful movie franchises in the world," says Chris Dunn, Managing Director, TCFHE. "It is no surprise that X-Men fans around Australia have rushed into stores on its opening day to purchase X-Men Origins: Wolverine in all of its high-definition glory on Blu-ray Disc -- a truly awe-inspiring viewing experience."
Previously "Quantum of Solace" was TCFHE biggest selling Day One Blu-ray release with 4,715 units sold. This Blu-ray title went on to sell 24,813 units in its 12 week life cycle.
Staring Australia's Hugh Jackman, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed and the ominous Weapon X program.
Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film have long been anticipated.
