First up, it appears there may be life left yet in the 'Dark Knight' film franchise. When filming wrapped in November last year, Bale, who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman said: "Everything's finished. It's me and Chris (Nolan) -- that will be the end of that Batman era." We heard the collective echoes of Batman heartbreak the world over.
This week, however, Bale told US film magazine Empire that he wasn't averse to the idea of another 'Batman' film, albeit a little farther down the track. He told the mag: "My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time. But ... if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story' then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work."While Bale has given a sliver of hope to fans, Nolan doesn't actually sound like he's on board with the idea. He told Empire: "What drew me to Batman in the first place was Bruce Wayne's story, and that he's a real character whose story begins in childhood...That, for me, became a three-part story. And obviously the third part becomes the ending of the guy's story."
Your guess is as good as ours if the dream-team Batman partnership will ever reunite, but we will say never say never.
The other interesting piece of Bale info this week comes from the dating corner of the world.Once upon a time, Bale went on a date with actress Drew Barrymore back when they were teenagers, but it seems she just wasn't into him.
Speaking to GQ Australia magazine, Bale said: "We went to see some bloody awful horror film, and that was the end of it. She never called again." Ouch.
We're pretty sure the Caped Crusader isn't too cut up about it though, he's been married since 2000 to former model Sibi Blazic with whom he has a seven-year-old daughter, Emmeline.
In Drew's dating corner of the world, the 'Charlie's Angel' star is engaged to Will Kopel, and expecting her first child. The rumour mill suggests the pair will marry in an intimate ceremony in June, just before the baby arrives.
One, two, three everybody say "Awwww...".
