Marlon Brando during The Island of Doctor Moreau

Marlon Brando was one of the greatest actors of the 20th century which meant he could get away with a lot on set... Way too much it turns out. The few who saw the film would have wondered why in some scenes Brando is wearing an upturned ice bucket on his head... The actor reportedly found the bucket then demanded that he be permitted to wear it on camera. As if that wasn't weird enough Brando also demanded that he appear in most scenes with a mini-me dwarf, including a particularly bizarre piano duet where the pair serenade one another. The actor also refused (or was unable) to learn his lines so had them all fed to him through an earpiece. Unfortunately though the radio signal on the earpiece was prone to picking up interference leading to one scene where Brando suddenly jumped up while the cameras were rolling and shouted “There’s a robbery at Woolworth’s!”. Later when questions were asked about Brando's full scale meltdown he replied casually “I was just so bored, I didn’t know what else to do.”
