Zac Efron misses 'musical roots'

Zac Efron misses his "musical roots".

The 27-year-old actor shot to fame in Disney's 2006 TV movie 'High School Musical' and admitted he misses getting to sing and dance in his films as it was always fun getting to perform with so many people.

He confessed: "I really miss my musical roots. Those films were such a beautiful part of my life, and they were my path into acting and performing. Shooting scenes where you have hundreds of people dancing and getting into it was so much fun."

However, the 'We Are Your Friends' star has been appearing in a more adult range of movies recently including raunchy comedy 'Bad Neighbours', which he is set to film a sequel for.

He said: "I probably had more fun working on the original 'Bad Neighbours' than I've ever had on any movie I've made. It's hard to pull off that kind of raunchy comedy and not go too over the top. It was the kind of role that allowed me to get back into comedy after trying to prove myself in a lot of dramas and it was while working on 'Bad Neighbours' that I realised just how much I really loved comedy. I can't wait to see how the new film turns out."

And Zac will also play a starring role in the new 'Baywatch' movie alongside Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, which he promised will be "very different from the original".

He added to HELLO! magazine: "I'm very excited. I'm planning to train pretty hard and get ready to outswim The Rock. From what I understand, the movie's going to be very different from the original 'Baywatch' series. I know Dwayne has big plans for it and wants to make it into something really special."
