Ryan Reynolds: My priority is to make an X Force movie

Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds says making an X-Force movie is his number one "priority".

The 39-year-old actor has taken on the role of the wise-cracking mercenary, who gains super-powers after undergoing an experimental regenerative mutation to cure his cancer, in a new action film and he already has his sights set on another movie.

Ryan admits his dream would be to bring Marvel Comics' militant mutant superhero squad X-Force, which has at times featured Wolverine, Psylocke and Colossus among many other characters, to the big screen.

In an interview with German news outlet Filmstarts, Reynolds revealed his ambitious plans, saying: "In the future, if we're doing a bunch more 'Deadpool' movies, we're really going to explore the X-Men a lot. And maybe X-Force. X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in."

Deadpool has a long history with X Force, having first appeared in their original Marvel comic book series New Mutants from 1991.

'Kick-Ass 2' director Jeff Wadlow was previously asked by Fox to write a script for an X-Force movie but before it got off the ground, footage for 'Deadpool' leaked online and Fox fast-tracked development on the Tim Miller-directed film after seeing the reaction the teaser got.
