John Krasinski to star in 13 Hours

John Krasinski is in talks to star in '13 Hours'.

'The Office' star has reportedly entered into negotiations with Paramount to play a Navy SEAL in the real-life thriller based on the attacks that took place on a CIA Annex and U.S. Special Mission Compound on the 11th anniversary of 9/11 in Benghazi, Libya, reports Variety.com.

The movie is based on the book 'Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi' by Mitchell Zuckoff and has been written by Chuck Hogan with Erwin Stoff producing.

'Transformers' director Michael Bay will helm the movie and is believed to have auditioned Woody Harrelson, J.K. Simmons, Walton Goggins and Shea Whigham alongside Krasinski for a starring role.

However, Bay is said to have been blown away with 35-year-old Krasinki's performance during the early stages and is backing him to take on one of the lead roles.

Krasinksi - who is married to actress Emily Blunt - is also starring in an upcoming, currently untitled, Cameron Crowe-directed picture alongside Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone.

He has also appeared in 'Promised Land' with Matt Damon and in Sam Mendes' comedy-drama 'Away We Go' with Maggie Gyllenhaal.
