Stanley Tucci joins Patient Zero

Stanley Tucci has joined the cast of 'Patient Zero'.

The 54-year-old actor will play the villainous role in the upcoming film, which also stars Natalie Dormer and Matt Smith, Deadline reports.

The movie begins where a global pandemic of rabies has evolved a whole new species, which are driven by violence. A human survivor - who is immune to the super strain - has the ability to communicate with this species and will lead a hunt to find Patient Zero to help rid humanity from the infection.

Stanley will play the role of a professor who, after becoming infected, wants to destroy the laboratory to ensure a cure cannot be found.

Stefan Ruzowitzky will direct the film, Vincent Newman is producing and the script for the Screen Gems' film was written by Mike Le.

Stanley will next be seen in 'Wild Card' and will continue his portrayal of Caesar Flickerman in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2'.

The star is also known for his roles in 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'The Lovely Bones' and 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' and recently, he provided the voice of Leonardo da Vinci in 'Mr. Peabody & Sherman'.
