Peter Dinklage joins Michelle Darnell

Peter Dinklage will star alongside Melissa McCarthy in her new comedy 'Michelle Darnell'.

The 'Game of Thrones' actor is set to appear alongside the 44-year-old actress in the upcoming picture which she has co-written with her husband, Ben Falcone - who is also on board to direct.

McCarthy will play the title character - a business women who gets sent to prison for insider trading and on her release attempts to rebrand herself as a heroine.

It is thought Dinklage, 45, will play the antagonist, one of many characters who have been wronged by Michelle Darnell, and aren't so quick to forget her past, reports Variety.com

The couple will also be producing through their On the Day Productions, alongside Will Ferrell and Adam McKay through their Gary Sanchez Productions.

The movie is being backed by Universal studios and is set to hit cinemas in the UK on April 2016.

Dinklage - who has previously starred in 'Elf' and 'Death at a Funeral' - is best known for his Emmy and Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in 'Game of Thrones.

He is next appearing in Adam Sandler's comedy 'Pixels' in July.
