Sam Taylor-Johnson confirms 50 Shades sequel

Sam Taylor-Johnson has "signed on" for a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequel.

The filmmaker has confirmed there are plans in place for a follow-up to the raunchy drama - which is based on the first book in E.L. James' racy trilogy - and she is already attached to take the helm again.

Asked if there are plans for a sequel, she told E! News: "I'm signed on. Let's see how this one goes first."

Sam also admitted she had worked very hard on choreographing the movie's sex scenes in order to make things as comfortable as possible for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

She explained: "[The sex scenes] were very choreographed. It had to be choreographed because I didn't want to make them go through it [countless times].

"It's an uncomfortable environment. You have to base it on trust. You have to build that trust to get there."

The two stars of the movie got on very well and their natural chemistry influenced their relationship on screen.

The director said: "The chemistry was funny because the two of them liked to out-funny each other. So there's this competition about who's the funniest.

"When I saw that humour, I thought we have to build this into the movie. A lot of it came naturally...It just felt like it was right to take that journey into much darker places."
