Kit Harington wants freedom

Kit Harington wants the freedom to do what he wants after finishing 'Game of Thrones'.

The 28-year-old actor - who plays Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy drama - admits work on the show has been all-consuming and he is looking forward to taking on more movie roles when it comes to an end.

He said: "Thrones has been my life these past few years. Hopefully after it finishes I'll have the freedom to do as much as I'd like.

"My [initial] remit for myself was just to do everything, but now I don't want to do anything that isn't testing me."

However, the 'Spooks' star is still unsure how he will cope when 'GoT' finally comes to an end.

He joked to Empire magazine: "The comedown is going to be immense. I'll probably have to go into therapy."

Kit is known for his long dark locks and admits the requirement he keeps his hair that way for 'Game of Thrones' makes it tough to find work even when the show isn't filming.

He explained: "You can get your haircut at the beginning of the year and it's gonna grow back. But it's tricky to do a project nearer the time of 'Thrones'."

There is talk of him trying his hand at comedy, and he is to play an "unbelievably thick" tennis player in an upcoming HBO mockumentary.

He said: "I've dipped my toes into lots of things."
