The year's best films and performances will be honoured Thursday morning (just after midnight in Australia) with the Oscar nominations. But before we get to the best, first we have the bottom of the barrel to celebrate. This morning, the picks for the worst of 2013 were announced by the tongue-in-cheek Golden Raspberry Awards.

And unsurprisingly, Adam Sandler movies are getting to be a habit with the Razzies.

Sandler's much-reviled comedy "Grown Ups 2" received highest dishonours this year with eight total Razzie nominations: Worst Picture, Worst Sequel, Worst Ensemble, Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor (Sandler), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Supporting Actress (Salma Hayek), and Worst Director (Dennis Dugan).

Sandler could add to a dubious winning streak.

He received the Worst Actor trophy last year for his performance in "That's My Boy" and made Razzie history in 2011 when "Jack and Jill" took home a record 10 awards, with the former "SNL" funnyman receiving both Worst Actor and Worst Actress.

Other Razzie veterans this year include Sylvester Stallone, who is becoming the anti-Meryl Streep making his 31st (!) Razzie appearance with a Worst Actor nomination for no less than three films: "Grudge Match," "Bullet to the Head," and "Escape Plan"; and Halle Berry, nominated for Worst Actress for both "Movie 43" (which received six total noms, including Worst Picture) and "The Call."

First-time nominees include Johnny Depp, who scored a Worst Actor nom for his performance as Tonto in "The Lone Ranger"; Naomi Watts, nominated for Worst Actress for both "Diana" and "Movie 43"; and Jaden Smith, whose Worst Actor nom is one of six nominations for the doomed sci-fi adventure "After Earth."

Oh, and Lindsay Lohan made the list this year, big time: Worst Actress for the strange Paul Schrader/Bret Easton Ellis experiment "The Canyons" and Worst Supporting Actress for "Scary Movie 5" and "In-App-Propriate Comedy." As did Lady Gaga for her Supporting Actress turn in "Machete Kills."

The, um, winners of the 34th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards will be announced on Oscar's Eve, March 1 (US time). We'll see if anyone shows up to claim their spray-painted statue this year (hey, it's been known to happen, just ask Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry).
